Building a Community

Today, I had the pleasure of snapping some pictures of the groundbreaking ceremony for the Crozet library. I expected to have some fun spending much missed time with the camera, and to see a few familiar faces. I did not expect it to, in so many ways, embody all the things I love about where I live.

As background for those of you non-Crozetians, the library is currently housed in this teeny tiny former train station.

Though it is a charming building, it has nowhere near the capacity to serve as a library for Crozet and Western Albemarle.

The ceremony was perfect, the weather was perfect, and the community support which has helped drive this process was apparent.
