Things You Should Do: Apple Harvest Festival

What to do if you have the post-Halloween blues, or you're decked out in scarves and ingesting 436 pumpkin spice whatever's but you're still not feeling FALL enough? The Apple Harvest Festival at Albemarle Ciderworks has the cure for what ails you. Kid-friendly cider, boozy cider, apple donuts, fried apple pies, and tons of local food trucks if apple foods aren't your jam. Speaking of jams, there's also live music all day, games and farm animals for the kids, local artisans, and hayrides. Plus, you can support your local Ruritans (even if you, like me, can't actually say the word "Ruritans") by purchasing large quantities of their homemade apple butter or Brunswick Stew. Did I mention admission is free? Saturday, November 4, 2017 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

We hit this event every year, yet I'm woefully lacking in pictures, so here's a throwback of one of my Appleheads at the fest enjoying some Jim Waive & The Young Divorcees.
